Access to Information Act
Under the Access to Information Act, individuals can request access to records under the control of a federal government institution, such as Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
The Privacy Act protects the privacy of individuals with respect to personal information about themselves held by a government institution, such as Citizenship and Immigration Canada. If you need to access your personal information or request corrections to same, you can make a request under the Privacy Act.
